We are very pleased to announce that the BooksoniX service now includes the following features and facilities:
Alerting Emails: Using the BooksoniX service you can automatically send out emails to individual or groups of customers, alerting them to titles of interest. We have now enhanced this feature to allow you to easily edit the body of the email message – you can now personalise your message, or include other points of interest, details of trade fairs you will be attending, links to your website or online bookshop etc. Links to cover images and a re-styled layout of the bibliographic details of the publication are now also included. Email alerts can be based on the announcement or publication date of a title, and once you’ve set up an alert and specified the recipients, emails will automatically be sent out, at the required intervals, detailing titles of interest (or all titles) that will be available or announced shortly. Drop-down ONIX field Descriptions: To make it even easier to select the correct option from the drop-down menus within the bibliographic forms we have included a detailed description of the ONIX options for each drop-down menu in the BooksoniX service. If you’re not quite sure which option to select take a look at the online help or in your manual. Selectable version of BIC classification Codes: BooksoniX users can select between the latest versions of the BIC classification codes for describing the subject(s) of their titles. Version 1.1 and 2.0 are available in the BooksoniX service. Hammicks Classification: As well as the BIC classification codes, we have added the official Hammicks classification system for legal books, as a drop-down selection tool available to simplify classification. This addition will enable BooksoniX users to easily select accurate, industry standard main and subject descriptions for their titles, thus enhancing the quality of their bibliographic data. Abbreviated Title Field: In response to a request from aggregators of automated BooksoniX data feeds, we have added an ‘Abbreviated Title’ field, thus ensuring that our data feeds match the specific requirements of the recipient. BooksoniX users will find that their data can be processed and will be widely available much more quickly if the data feed is accurate, and includes the correct fields required by the aggregators. Contained Items specified for Mixed Media products: Similarly, in response to requests from aggregators, we have added fields to specify the items mixed media products consist of, for example, paperback and CD-ROM, thus ensuring our data feeds match the specific requirements of the recipients. Linking Prices to a Country: To allow for different tax levels in different countries, you can now link prices to specific countries, rather than just to specific currencies. Therefore, even though the basic price might be the same for many countries, the different tax levels can be catered for. Improved Network Software: Faster access to your data, this is particularly noticeable in the display of cover and other images. Automatic Activation of Forthcoming Titles: In response to a request from a customer, forthcoming titles can be automatically set to active when the publication date is reached. Coming Soon - Workflow Scheduling Module - in final testing stages: Organise the progress of your titles, from conception through to publication, using our new, easy-to-use workflow scheduling module. |
